On the evening of 24/9, US President Donald Trump hosted a reception for Chinese President Xi Jinping and his wife, Peng Liyuan, at the White House. Ivanka Trump and her 15-year-old daughter, Arabella Kushner, attended the event.

Ivanka wore a robin's egg blue dress, featuring embroidered pocket-like designs on the chest and waist. According to Sinchew, the design blended traditional Eastern hand-embroidery techniques with modern tailoring. She paired the gown with Jimmy Choo heels and pearl earrings, creating a classic, elegant look. Her daughter wore a white, ladylike dress from Self-Portrait.

This appearance by the mother-daughter duo recalled a moment nine years prior, when six-year-old Arabella Kushner performed a Chinese song and recited Tang poetry during President Xi Jinping's visit to the US. At that time, Ivanka told President Xi, "We want you to feel at home."

The White House announced that 130 people attended President Xi Jinping's reception, including dozens of business leaders such as Elon Musk, Lisa Su, Jensen Huang, and Tim Cook.

Guo Pei, the designer behind Ivanka's gown, is notable as the first Chinese designer to debut a collection at Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week.
