Etta Ng’s response is seen as a sign confirming that Jackie Chan is covertly supporting her career development. In 2025, some sources reported that through an intermediary, Jackie Chan repeatedly provided economic assistance to Etta Ng. Staff members from his team actively contacted Etta Ng, commissioning her to design movie posters for promoting his works in the North American market.
Etta Ng received market-rate compensation, and both parties signed a contract as per standard practice. Ng once spoke about her income from designing posters, stating it was "enough to cover rent and save for fuel". However, when asked if she had forgiven her father, she did not respond. Ng lives in Canada and Hong Kong, China, and publicly married her same-sex partner, Andi, in 2018.

Etta Ng was born in 1999, the result of a clandestine affair between Jackie Chan and Miss Asia Elaine Ng. In multiple interviews, Ng stated that she has never met her father.
The relationship between Ng and her mother, actress Elaine Ng, has also been troubled. She called the police multiple times, reporting abuse by her mother. The mother and daughter frequently argued, leading Etta to leave home and stay with acquaintances. When Ng began dating Andi, Elaine Ng strongly opposed it, intensifying the mother-daughter conflict. Ng and Andi struggled due to unstable employment, at one point sleeping under bridges and seeking assistance from charities.
On Appledaily in 2019, Etta Ng said her heart was filled with doubts and unresolved questions, unable to understand why so many things had happened to her. If she met Jackie Chan, she would want to ask him what exactly happened when she was a child. "I want to ask what my mother did back then? Did the two of you have any private discussions? I need an answer," Ng stated.
She added that she does not care about Jackie Chan's assets and would not be hurt if he did not leave her anything in his will. Ng "only wants to find her father to ask for an explanation". From a young age, Ng endured immense pressure as the illegitimate child of the action superstar. Before meeting her same-sex partner, her life lacked joy. Ng recounted that the most painful period for her was living with her grandmother and mother in Shanghai, China. During that time, she was bullied and ridiculed by friends. Friends would frequently kick her while she was sleeping.
In one interview, Ng did not comment on her biological father's character. "What I know about him is the same as you. In my eyes, he is neither good nor bad, because I do not know him. I do not comment on people I do not know," Ng said.
Jackie Chan and actress Joan Lin married in the United States in 1982; their son, Jaycee Chan, was born the same year. According to Ifeng, the actor only focused on filmmaking, while his wife managed the family's companies, including JC Group, a film production company founded by Jackie Chan. Jaycee Chan once said, "My mother's life is almost entirely about numbers. All of my father's contracts passed through my mother's hands, making her very busy and hardworking." Joan Lin leads a private life; for the past 15 years, she has rarely made public appearances.
