In the video, Bieber chose angles that didn't reveal Jack's face, similar to photos of him shared on social media. In one scene, where Hailey holds her son facing the camera, the director uses a water spot to obscure the baby's face. The video has garnered approximately 20 million views and over 1 million likes on Instagram. Many viewers consider the Bieber baby the highlight of the music video.
On YouTube, Bieber's new release received praise. One commenter described the entire video as a "boast" of the singer's family happiness. Another comment reads: "This isn't about music anymore, it's the story of a man who's healed, loved, and knows how to protect what's important to him."
"Yukon" is from Bieber's seventh studio album, Swag, released on 11/7. The 21-track album revolves around marital challenges, his love for Hailey and his son, and life reflections.
Swag performed well after its release, reaching number one on the Top R&B Albums chart and number two on the Billboard 200. Pitchfork gave the album a 7.3 rating, describing Bieber's new compositions as "warm, cheerful, but somewhat disjointed."
