Having resided in the United States for two years, Khanh Ngoc balances her life as a homemaker with occasional performances at Vietnamese community events, helping her maintain a connection to her passion. Each week, she visits Vietnamese markets to procure fresh vegetables and spices, essential for preparing traditional meals for her husband and son.

Among the dishes she cherishes, vegetarian braised gourd with mushrooms holds a special place. The singer recalls that when she lived in Vietnam, her mother frequently prepared this dish whenever she grew tired of meat. "Back then, I found this dish quite ordinary," she shared, "but now that I am far away, I deeply miss the flavors my mother cooked." For Khanh Ngoc, nurturing family meals is a way to strengthen family bonds and ensure her children maintain a connection to their homeland through its distinctive tastes.

Khanh Ngoc’s move to the US followed her second marriage to Desalle Bui, a Vietnamese overseas entrepreneur in the medical equipment sector. They settled in Arizona in 2024. She has a son from her previous marriage.

Before her life in the US, Khanh Ngoc built a notable music career. She won the Television Singing Contest in 2004 and was subsequently honored with the Most Loved Young Singer award at Lan Song Xanh 2005. Her career is marked by popular hits such as "Mong thuy tinh" and "Vang trang khoc", written by Nguyen Van Chung. In 2007, she signed an exclusive four-year contract with Nhac Xanh company before transitioning to an independent career.
