The song, released on the morning of 4/9, describes the vibrant urban rhythm. It features relatable rap lines reflecting youth culture, such as "baht filling accounts" and "cool tuk-tuk spins." Lisa repeatedly uses the word Sawadika, meaning "Hello" in Thai.

In the music video, Lisa wears Muay Thai-inspired attire, with her name printed on the back of the shorts. In another scene, the artist sports a futuristic style, dancing next to Bangkok's iconic mode of transport.

According to The Nation, Thapanee Kiatphaibool, Governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), thanked Lisa for promoting the Thai greeting and the country's friendly image. For the past year, the singer has served as an ambassador for the Amazing Thailand campaign, helping to spread unique aspects of her homeland's culture internationally.

Sawadika quickly became a sensation after its release, becoming the fastest Kpop singer's song to surpass one million views on YouTube since the start of this year. The music video also trended on social media platform X, garnering hundreds of thousands of comments.

Audience members wrote: "Who would have thought a Thai person would become globally famous, creating music and showcasing Thailand so prominently? I got goosebumps hearing Sawadika. The Muay Thai attire combined with traditional outfits in the MV is very impressive," and "This song is a breakthrough for Lisa; the rap part is incredibly captivating."

Lisa, 29, was born in Thailand and previously worked primarily in South Korea as part of the group Blackpink. The singer is currently CEO of Lloud, a company she founded that operates in fashion, film, and music.

Over the past year, Lisa has shifted her focus to the US and European markets. She has performed at major events such as the VMAs 2024, Oscar 2025, and the Victoria's Secret fashion show. This year, she became the first female Kpop solo artist to perform at the World Cup opening ceremony.
