Liu Xiaoqing not leaving inheritance to family

Chinese star Liu Xiaoqing stated she will not leave her assets to family members, saying they are "more malicious than outsiders."

The inheritance issue and family conflicts surrounding Liu Xiaoqing are currently a focal point on Weibo. On 25/3, she posted screenshots on her personal page, accusing her nephew of spreading rumors about her death. The actress wrote: "Do you wish for me to die so badly? We come from the same root, why torment each other with such impatience?"

On Iqiyi, Liu Xiaoqing admitted to strained family relations, stating she never felt love or care from her sister's family and nephew. She reiterated her belief that they were "more malicious than outsiders." Liu Xiaoqing declared that upon her death, her assets would be donated to a Chinese film development organization, not distributed to relatives.

Liu Xiaoqing's parents have passed away; she has a sister and a nephew. According to Sina, Liu Xiaoqing once supported her nephew's education at an expensive school in Beijing and funded his overseas studies. When the actress was younger, she stated she would leave her nephew her assets, including a villa in Beijing. However, in 2012, she revoked this promise. Over the years, the actress and her sister's family have had many conflicts.

Actor Chen Guoqun, Liu Xiaoqing's ex-husband, wrote in his autobiography about the star's relationship with her sister. According to him, her sister's family hoped Liu Xiaoqing would remain childless throughout her life to ensure their children would inherit all of Liu Xiaoqing's assets.

The actress was born in Chongqing, never met her father, and doesn't know who he is, carrying her mother's surname. During a livestream in 2025, she said she grew up with beatings. In contrast to her mother, Liu Xiaoqing's maternal grandmother was gentle, caring for her every step of the way. The actress said, "Whether gentle or strict, they are all relatives I deeply love; I was very obedient to my grandmother and mother." Later, her mother remarried, and Liu Xiaoqing stated her stepfather treated her family well. He was the gentlest person she had ever met.

At the peak of her fame in 2002, she was investigated for business law violations and tax evasion, leading to 442 days in prison. Thanks to her acting talent, Liu Xiaoqing gradually regained her status as a lead actress after her release. In recent years, she has consistently appeared in films, television dramas, short films, and television shows.

The actress has had three marriages. In 2013, she married businessman Wang Xiaoyu for the fourth time. Over the past two years, some sources have reported her divorce, but she has not responded to her marital status.
