On the evening of 28/4, Melania Trump and President Donald Trump attended a reception at the White House. The event was part of King Charles III and Queen Camilla's state visit to the U.S.
Melania Trump wore a light pink silk strapless Christian Dior Haute Couture gown, paired with ivory suede gloves and matching silk high heels. The U.S. first lady opted for her signature makeup style: smoky eyes, nude lipstick, and naturally flowing hair tucked behind her ears.

According to Mail, Melania's appearance drew comparisons to former U.S. first lady Jackie Kennedy. On 11/5/1962, during a reception for then French Minister of Culture Andre Malraux, Jackie impressed in a minimalist pastel pink strapless Dior gown made of faille silk.
The gown, designed by Guy Douvier, featured a bow at the back and is considered one of Jackie Kennedy's iconic outfits. According to Fashionista, the dress is currently on display at the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum in Boston.

On social media, many users juxtaposed photos of Melania and Jackie. They commented on X: "Melania is so beautiful. Tonight she seems to embody Jackie's style", "Such beautiful dresses. First ladies are the epitome of elegance and class", "That dress is amazing. I'm always stunned by Melania's radiant beauty in every color".

Since President Trump's re-election in 2024, Melania Trump has consistently impressed with her elegant yet distinctive style. Instead of potentially controversial fashion choices, she has opted for classic designs. In January, she garnered attention with the release of her documentary, Melania: Twenty Days to History, which secured 40 million USD in rights. In February, she donated her inauguration gown to the Smithsonian National Museum of American History.
