Le Nguyen Bao Ngoc, from Can Tho, stands at 1.86 m tall with measurements of 87-63-98 cm.
In August 2022, she was crowned the 1st runner-up in Miss World Vietnam, and later won Miss Intercontinental 2022 in Egypt. Earlier this year, Bao Ngoc was nominated for the Typical Young Vietnamese Face award by the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee. She's currently involved in Gen Zero, a youth program focused on sustainable development and environmental protection.
Her management company stated they chose Bao Ngoc due to her beauty, stage presence, and humanitarian project, which aligns with the competition's criteria.
Bao Ngoc expressed her excitement upon receiving the sash. "I will strive to use all my abilities, experience, and journey to shine and bring pride to beauty pageant fans," she said.
With about six months to prepare, she will focus on developing her humanitarian project, a crucial component of Miss World. The organizers have yet to announce the time and location for the 73rd competition.
Miss World, alongside Miss Universe, is one of the world's two largest beauty pageants. It was first held in the UK in 1951. In the 72nd competition in May, Krystyna Pyszkova crowned her successor, Opal Suchata from Thailand.
Notable Vietnamese contestants in previous Miss World pageants include Lan Khue (top 11), Do My Linh (top 40), Luong Thuy Linh (top 12), Tieu Vy (top 30), Do Thi Ha (top 13), Mai Phuong (top 40), and most recently, Huynh Tran Y Nhi (top 40).
According to the national organizers, the Miss World Vietnam competition will still take place at the end of the year, with the winner earning the right to compete in the 74th Miss World.
