Mixed-race beauty competes in Miss Vietnam

Lisa Gouband, 19, of Vietnamese-French heritage, captured attention in the Miss Vietnam 2026 semi-finals with her balanced features and physique.

She stands 1,7 m tall with a 59 cm waist. She previously competed in Miss Cosmo TP HCM in June, reaching the top 10.

Gouband is one of 53 young women who advanced past the preliminary rounds. Over the past month, she participated in filming the pageant's reality television show and engaged in various experiential activities.

Born in 2007, she attended a French-language school in TP HCM and is currently a student at Emlyon Business School in France.

The contestant wore an ao dai during the preliminary rounds in August in TP HCM. In the anthropometric round, judges noted her balanced and harmonious face and figure.

Gouband participated in a tea-picking activity in Lai Chau with other contestants in early September.

She trains in catwalk with an expert, preparing for the semi-final night, scheduled for late September.

Her face is praised by audiences for suiting various styles, from gentle to sharp.

She holds a French rugby referee certification (Diplome National d'Arbitrage de Rugby). Gouband previously won a championship and a runner-up title in rugby at the Asia-Pacific French-Language Schools Sports Tournament. After an ankle injury, she transitioned to football, playing as a goalkeeper.

Gouband was pictured with a child during a charity program in Lai Chau. She has engaged in numerous community activities, including spending two years teaching rugby to disadvantaged children in Vietnam alongside French-Vietnamese player François Trinh-Duc.

Miss Vietnam 2026 began its recruitment tour and a series of exchange activities at several universities in June. This year, organizers chose the theme "Land of Fragrance and Beauty", aiming to honor the beauty of women from all regions while promoting intellectual values, character, and community responsibility. The final is scheduled for 25/10 in Hai Phong.

Miss Vietnam is a beauty pageant initiated by Tien Phong Newspaper, first organized in 1988 as Miss Tien Phong Newspaper Festival. Bui Bich Phuong, from Ha Noi, was the first to wear the crown. Over the years, despite the proliferation of many beauty contests, Miss Vietnam remains a quality platform, maintaining its unique identity. Many titleholders have achieved success in various fields and are well-known to the public, including: Ha Kieu Anh (1992), Mai Phuong Thuy (2006), Dang Thi Ngoc Han (2010), Dang Thu Thao (2012), Nguyen Cao Ky Duyen (2014), Do My Linh (2016), Tran Tieu Vy (2018), Do Thi Ha (2020). The reigning Miss is Ha Truc Linh, 22 years old.
