Two weeks after giving birth to her first child, a daughter nicknamed Gao, actress Ngo Thanh Van says life has completely changed. While the initial shock has subsided, she describes the experience as a "wake-up call" to the realities of motherhood.
Committed to breastfeeding, Van initially struggled with milk production, admitting to moments of tears and frustration. "Many nights, I stayed up all night holding my baby," she said.

With support from healthcare professionals, she overcame initial difficulties and is now able to express and store milk for Gao. "The baby is growing so fast. I just want her to grow slowly, I'm afraid that in the blink of an eye, she'll be all grown up and won't be this tiny anymore, cuddling and needing me," Van shared.
Like many first-time parents, Van and her husband, Huy Tran, are constantly busy with their newborn. Nighttime routines now revolve around feeding and changing diapers, leaving little time for Van's usual skincare regimen. "Our clothes are often disheveled, and our hair is a mess," she laughed.

Tran's active involvement has been crucial to Van's recovery. She praises his parenting skills, particularly his technique of using "white noise" to help Gao sleep. Tran's proficiency in swaddling and preparing the crib stems from prenatal classes.
Van, known for her action roles, has no immediate plans to return to filmmaking, choosing to focus on her family. In the months leading up to the birth, she prepared extensively by reading books, watching videos, and consulting with doctors and specialists. She wanted to be as ready as possible to embark on this new journey.

Van envisions herself as a supportive and encouraging mother, allowing Gao to explore her interests freely. She doesn't want to dictate her daughter's career path, believing in letting her discover her own way. "My husband and I will always be there to support and cheer her on," she affirmed.
