Nhat Kim Anh: 'Having a child is a priceless gift'

Actress Nhat Kim Anh says she's happy being a single mother at 40, juggling business and raising her young child.

Celebrating her birthday on 15/8, she received many well wishes from friends and colleagues. "To me, having my daughter - eight-month-old Julia - is a priceless gift from above," the actress said. She had tried unsuccessfully for 10 years to have a second child through in vitro fertilization. After giving birth earlier this year, she devoted all her time to her baby.

Nhat Kim Anh's life revolves around Julia, from pumping milk and changing diapers to playing with her. Despite the exhaustion, seeing her baby grow each day brings her immense joy. As a single mother, she feels fortunate to have the full support of her mother and family. Her 10-year-old son Tin, from her previous marriage, lives in Can Tho with his father and paternal grandparents, but maintains regular contact with his mother. She often brings him to Ho Chi Minh City on weekends to visit his sister.

"Tin loves his sister very much and acts like a 'big brother'. Whenever he's with Julia, he showers her with gentle affection, hugging, kissing, and making her laugh," the actress shared.

When Julia was two months old, Nhat Kim Anh started attending events, meeting friends and colleagues, and returning to work. The actress lives with her daughter and a personal assistant in a 500 m2 house in Ho Chi Minh City. Running an online cosmetics business, she often uses her daughter's nap times to livestream and sell products.

She is also focused on regaining her pre-pregnancy figure. Having gained 30 kg during pregnancy, she's now at 52 kg. She plans to return to singing and acting once Julia is older. "I want to build my home in my own way, focusing all my love on my children, so I've chosen to be a single mother and not remarry," she explained.

Nhat Kim Anh has starred in films like Long Thanh Cam Gia Ca, Gieo Gio, 39 Do Yeu, and Cam Bay - Hoi Tho Cua Quy. She was the youngest judge at the 2017 Vietnam Film Festival. In addition to acting, she also pursues a singing career and released the album Lau Dai Cat in 2008.

She married a businessman in late 2014. They divorced in June 2019, and her son lives with his father. In 2022, after a custody dispute, she agreed for her son to remain with her ex-husband.
