On 7/8, director Trung Lun revealed behind-the-scenes footage of Phuoc Sang acting in Lamgiau voi ma phan 2 (Getting Rich with Ghosts Part 2). He plays a cameo role as a camera shop owner and friend of Ong Nhay, portrayed by Hoai Linh. The film crew arranged transportation for the artist to the set in Ho Chi Minh City, where filming took place over the course of a day.

Trung Lun said that Phuoc Sang was initially hesitant due to his health concerns and fear of impacting the crew's schedule. The director persuaded him, wanting him to return to acting and reunite with former colleagues like Hoai Linh and Cat Phuong. "He agreed out of camaraderie, but we're paying him a fee commensurate with his stature," the director said.
On set, the actor had difficulty walking and required assistance navigating steps. The crew assigned staff to provide care as needed. Due to memory impairment, Phuoc Sang had to concentrate to remember his lines. Despite this, he remained jovial, joking with everyone. "He stays optimistic, always trying to see the positive side of things," Trung Lun commented.

The actor suffered a stroke in early 3/2024 and received treatment at the Emergency Cardiology Department of Thong Nhat Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City. He had pre-existing conditions and a history of strokes. Three months later, with improved health, he made a guest appearance on the program 24 Gio gieo hat yeu thuong (24 Hours Sowing Seeds of Love) alongside actress Viet Trinh and screenwriter Chau Tho.
The artist currently resides with his children in Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City. Phuoc Sang credits his children's love for helping him battle his illness. During his illness, every morning before school, his eldest son, nicknamed Dola, 17, would bathe and help him with personal care. In the evenings, Dola would feed him, arrange his blankets and pillows, remind him to sleep, and ensure he took his medication on time. Thanks to his family, he cherishes life more and diligently attends physical therapy for a full recovery.
