On the afternoon of 4/7, the organization holding the exclusive rights to send Vietnamese contestants to Miss Earth announced Thu Uyen as the beauty queen participating in the upcoming edition. Her selection was direct, bypassing the Miss Earth Vietnam national preliminary rounds used in previous years.

Originally from Hai Phong, Thu Uyen holds a degree in Business Administration. She stands 1,7 m tall and has measurements of 84-61-94 cm. She currently works in the healthcare and beauty industry. In 2021, she was a delegate at the Global Young Vietnamese Intellectuals Forum. She has also participated in several beauty pageants, including Miss FPT University (top 5), Miss Vietnamese Student (top 15), Miss Vietnamese Women Through Photos 2017 (top 20), Miss Universe Vietnam 2022 (top 16), and Miss Tourism Vietnam Global 2024 (second runner-up). Many refer to Thu Uyen as the "technology beauty queen" because she is a co-founder and CEO of a technology-related company.

A representative from her management company stated that Thu Uyen was chosen because they believe she embodies the essential qualities of image, adaptability, a strong desire to learn, and a development orientation aligned with sustainable values—the core message of Miss Earth.

Thu Uyen expressed her emotion upon receiving the sash. "I will prepare diligently and try my best", she said.

She has four months to refine her performance skills, foreign language proficiency, and physical fitness. She also plans to conduct in-depth research on Vietnamese culture and develop a community project to present at Miss Earth.

Miss Earth is an annual beauty pageant founded in 2001 and headquartered in the Philippines. In its 25th edition, Natalie Puškinova from the Czech Republic was crowned the winner. The competition aims to raise global awareness and launch campaigns and plans regarding environmental protection issues.

Vietnam's highest achievement in this beauty pageant was the Miss Earth 2018 title, awarded to Nguyen Phuong Khanh. Do Thi Lan Anh and Trinh My Anh consecutively won the Miss Water (second runner-up) titles in 2023 and 2025, respectively.
