Tien Tien's fresh return after 15 years

Singer Tien Tien, 34, has transformed from a reserved indie artist to a vibrant presence on the show "Em xinh say hi" with her lively, humorous personality.

Seven years ago, Tien Tien withdrew from the stage and the music scene, working solely in the studio and rarely sharing about her personal life. Recently, she realized she shouldn't shy away from her emotions or the audience's expectations, prompting her comeback.

A senior participant among 30 contestants, she has captured the attention of young audiences. Leading up to the finale, many predict she will win a top prize.

Tien Tien returns to the entertainment scene after years without releasing solo work or collaborations. Her appearance sparked curiosity from the first episode. The singer became a trending topic online thanks to her youthful look and performances like "AAA," "Cam ky thi hoa," and "Dieu em luon mong muon," which garnered millions of views.

In the early stages, she consistently took on the role of team leader. Many contestants wanted to join her team, drawn to her songwriting and musical experience, as well as her unique vocal style.

Throughout the competition, Tien Tien has demonstrated her musical expertise, often taking charge of her team's music production. Many contestants said they joined her team because of their confidence in her abilities.

While competitors often focused on staging, concepts, and costumes, Tien Tien's team prioritized the music and its message. She expressed her willingness to adapt and embrace public feedback, both positive and negative.

She also encouraged and mentored her teammates. In Live Stage 3, while preparing the performance "Em khong co ua," she encouraged Bao Anh and Saabirose to contribute their ideas to the music.

MC Tran Thanh noted that Tien Tien's words always resonated with listeners, and her leadership style was subtle yet effective.

The singer exudes a relatable energy and a humorous personality. She jokes with MC Tran Thanh, playfully referring to herself as "the oldest one here."

At times, Tien Tien bursts into laughter during rehearsals, grooves to the music, and embraces choreography – something audiences previously thought she "would never do." Miu Le, a close friend, said the show will give the public a fresh perspective on Tien Tien.

Tien Tien's introduction and explanation for her return charmed audiences with its endearing humor. She drove a toy car onto the set, expressing her desire to "hold onto youth."

Tien Tien's fashion style has also evolved, often coordinating with the other contestants. Previously, she embraced a tomboy image with minimalist outfits.

Her current wardrobe features oversized suits in pastel colors, paired with ruffled shirts or cartoon-print t-shirts, giving her a youthful vibe.

In Tien Tien's social media posts, fans express surprise at her transformation, encouraging her to be even more daring and unconventional.

Her real name is Huynh Nu Thuy Tien, and she hails from Lam Dong. Tien Tien studied songwriting with musician Thanh Bui. She began her professional career between 2013 and 2015, releasing hits like "My Everything," "Say You Do," and "Vi toi con song."

Contestants also describe Tien Tien as compassionate. In Live Stage 3, she cried when the youngest contestant, Anh Sang, was eliminated.

Unlike her previously reserved demeanor, Tien Tien says she has rediscovered a fresh source of energy.

The show "Em xinh say hi" aims to "find the next generation of female idols in Vietnamese music." Airing since late May, the 14-episode series is scheduled to conclude in August. Contestants are divided into teams, competing directly through group performances. The program is produced by the same team behind the successful "Anh trai say hi" in mid-2024.

From an initial 30 contestants, only 16 remain after four rounds. Organizers announced a public voting period from 9/8 to 23/8 to determine the winner and runner-up. The program's first concert will take place on 13/9 in Ho Chi Minh City.
