Vietnamese celebrities meet Arsenal legend

Actress Dinh Ngoc Diep and rapper Neko Le joined former Arsenal star Gilberto Silva at an event on Nguyen Hue walking street.

On 2/8, Diep joined thousands of fans to meet the famed footballer Gilberto Silva. A football enthusiast, Diep said she has followed many tournaments and holds a special affection for Arsenal, where Silva played as a defensive midfielder.

She participated in games with Silva (front row, right) and young fans. On his first visit to Ho Chi Minh City for a commercial event, Silva said he felt the warmth of the Vietnamese people. He expressed his desire to spend more time experiencing the local culture and cuisine.

Actor Vinh Rau arrived early to meet the global football star. He jokingly said he managed to get Silva's autograph on a football.

Other Vietnamese celebrities, including director and rapper Neko Le (right) and actor Vo Tan Phat, also attended the event.

Silva joined Arsenal in 2002 after winning the World Cup with Brazil in South Korea and Japan. The 49-year-old midfielder played a total of 244 matches, scoring 24 goals. He was a key player in the "Gunners" squad that won the 2003-2004 Premier League title undefeated, and the FA Cup in 2003 and 2005.

Known for his tireless playing style, Silva was considered an "unsung hero" at Arsenal. He also holds the record for the second-fastest goal in Champions League history, scoring against PSV Eindhoven in the 20.07th second on 25/9/2002. After six years at Arsenal, he moved to Panathinaikos (Greece). In 2011, he returned to his native Brazil, playing for Gremio and Mineiro for two years before retiring in 2013.

That evening, Silva appeared on stage at a concert held as part of the event, where he met striker Nguyen Tien Linh (right).

The concert featured a lineup of popular artists among young people. Soobin performed energetic renditions of "Intro Kingdom," "Hey," "Ai Cung Phai Lon," "Blackjack," and "Beautiful Monster."
