According to National Business Daily on the evening of 4/8, the decision took effect at the end of July and will last for three years. During this period, Zhao is prohibited from trading shares in three companies: Long Vy Culture Media, Ha Bao Entertainment, and Dong Nhuan Phat Investment.
Zhao holds 95%, 90%, and 4.5% of the shares in these companies, respectively. In recent years, the actress's business network has shrunk. She is currently connected to 16 companies, 10 of which are still operating. She is a shareholder or director in these companies.

In 4/2024, the actress also had a portion of her shares, worth 5 million CNY (18.22 billion VND), frozen until 2027.
The reason for the recent freeze has not been disclosed. Zhao has faced several business-related issues. In 2019, she and her former husband, businessman Huang Youlong, were ordered by the court to compensate investor Ms. Wang for fraudulent stock information, which caused her financial losses.
The actress has also been involved in over 400 legal disputes due to providing false information in stock transactions. In late 2017, the China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC) announced the results of its investigation into Long Vy Culture Media. The couple was found guilty of misusing financial leverage, transferring shares, falsifying business data, and establishing shell companies.
The CSRC determined that Zhao and Huang's actions severely impacted the stock market environment, damaged the confidence of small and medium investors, and affected the transparency and fairness of the stock market. The authorities ordered Zhao and Huang to rectify their wrongdoings and pay a fine of 600,000 CNY (2.1 billion VND) each. They were also banned from participating in the market for five years.
According to The Beijing News, Zhao and her former husband once held assets worth approximately 700 million USD (as of 2019) through investments and businesses in real estate, wine, and film production.
Since 2021, all of Zhao's entertainment activities have been halted. Her last public appearance was at a fashion event for Fendi, a brand she once represented, in 7/2021. In August of the same year, all films starring her were removed from video platforms, and her name was deleted from film award portals. Brands endorsed by Zhao also hid or deleted related posts on Weibo. These actions led fans to believe that the actress was "blacklisted," but authorities have not disclosed the reason for the penalties.
Late last year, the actress revealed she had divorced Huang Youlong years earlier and therefore had no involvement in her ex-husband's issues. According to On, Huang is facing multiple debts and is being pursued for 700 million HKD (over 90 million USD). He currently has a total debt of 1.1 billion HKD (141 million USD).
The 49-year-old actress now leads a private life, focusing on Buddhist studies. In May, she posted a photo on social media with a quote from Tibetan teacher Chogyam Trungpa's book: "Bravery is not pretending you’re not afraid but accepting your vulnerability." From the book, Zhao learned to confront her fears, not run away from her weaknesses and vulnerabilities, and gradually overcome her anxieties.
The actress was once one of the "Four Dan Actresses" of Chinese cinema. Xinhua considers her one of the few Chinese female artists to achieve success in film, television, and music. She is famous in Asia for her roles in series like My Fair Princess, Romance in the Rain, Painted Skin, Shaolin Soccer, and Chinese Odyssey 2002.
