On 13/3, a representative from Bac Tra My Regional Medical Center announced that 13 students from Nguyen Van Troi Secondary School in Tra My commune showed signs of suspected food poisoning.
The Emergency Department admitted the students at midday 12/3. They presented with fatigue, abdominal pain, headaches, nausea, and vomiting. Symptoms began around 8:00 on the same day. The students reported buying and drinking milk tea from Thanh Sang shop in Trung Thi hamlet around 16:30 on 11/3, with symptoms appearing simultaneously the following morning.
Bac Tra My Regional Medical Center is collaborating with the school and authorities to conduct an epidemiological investigation and verify the food source. Officials collected remaining milk tea samples from the students and pre-prepared drink samples from the shop from 11/3 for testing. They are also inspecting the facility's food safety conditions.
Currently, all 13 students are in stable condition, alert, and preparing for discharge.
Health authorities initially believe this is a suspected food poisoning case linked to milk tea purchased outside the school. The specific cause is still under investigation by authorities.
