63 suspected food poisoning cases after eating cake

Many people experienced vomiting, abdominal pain, and diarrhea, requiring emergency hospitalization, after consuming cake purchased from a bakery in Rach Gia ward.

According to a report from Rach Gia ward's Department of Culture and Society, 63 individuals displayed symptoms consistent with food poisoning after consuming cake on 6/3. The cake had been purchased by various businesses from a bakery located on 3 Thang 2 Street, intended for parties celebrating International Women's Day on 8/3.

As of this morning, 5 individuals remain hospitalized at Kien Giang General Hospital for treatment.

Authorities have inspected the business premises and collected patient and food samples for testing to determine the cause of the poisoning. The test results have not yet been announced.
