In a recently issued sanction decision, the regulatory body outlined two primary violations by the company. Specifically, The Vigo was fined 75 million VND for selling cosmetics with formulas that did not match their publicly declared dossiers and 37,5 million VND for advertising products with incorrect information. The Drug Administration of Vietnam applied aggravating circumstances for both offenses, as the company committed violations across multiple products simultaneously.
The three imported skincare products found to have incorrect formulas are Laboratorios Babe Stop Akn Repairing Moisturiser, Revision Skincare Retinol Complete 0.5, and Ekseption White-Up Sorbet. These products are widely available on e-commerce platforms.
Experts warn that consumers using products containing unapproved ingredients risk irritation, especially since these items are positioned for specialized skin treatment. Additionally, misleading advertisements can cause buyers to misunderstand product benefits, leading to unnecessary spending on cosmetics that offer no real effectiveness.
The Drug Administration of Vietnam has withdrawn the registration numbers for these products, suspended their nationwide circulation, and ordered the company to destroy all affected batches. Regarding the advertising violations, the authorities have compelled The Vigo to correct all information published on its website and other related media channels.
The Drug Administration of Vietnam advises consumers to immediately stop using the three aforementioned products. The agency also urges people to carefully verify product origins and prioritize goods with complete public information from legitimate distributors. This action against The Vigo underscores regulatory efforts to tighten control over the imported cosmetics market, aiming to protect public health.
