The two products subject to recall are Nature's Own Glucosamine Sulfate with Chondroitin, a 320-capsule variant, lot number 1662937, with an expiry date of 4/2028; and Nature's Own Magnesium Glycinate 1150 mg, a 300-capsule variant, lot number 1665576, also expiring on 4/2028.
This directive from the Ministry of Health follows Australia's urgent recall of the same two Nature's Own functional food products on 4/6. The Australian Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) stated that there is a risk of glass fragments appearing in the product bottles, not within the capsules themselves. However, users consuming products from the affected lots could face danger if they come into contact with these fragments.
These two products have been widely distributed and sold in Australia by Sanofi Consumer Healthcare, a division of the Sanofi Group, since 7/5.
The reason for the presence of glass fragments in the product bottles in Australia remains unclear.

Following a review of its management data, the Food Safety Authority confirmed that it has not granted approval for the registration of these two health protection food products in Vietnam. However, to safeguard consumer health, the Authority has instructed local health departments to review any related product declarations or self-declarations. They are also to work with companies that have declared these products to halt circulation, inform distribution networks, and implement recalls as advised by the manufacturer.
Units are required to compile statistics on the quantity of affected products imported, sold, and currently in stock, and to propose measures for handling these specific batches. The Ministry of Health advises citizens not to use any products from the recalled lots.
The aforementioned products may be present in the Vietnamese market through "hand-carry" imports or sales on e-commerce platforms.
