The "Free Eye Disease Risk Check" project embodies Long Chau's vision of bringing high-quality healthcare to the people, "For a healthier Vietnam."
According to the Ministry of Health, Vietnam has about two million blind people, and 80% of the causes of blindness are preventable and treatable. Refractive errors are also common among adolescents, with about 15-20% of rural students at risk and 30-40% in urban areas. Nearly 3 million people have refractive errors requiring corrective lenses, two-thirds of whom are nearsighted.
This situation highlights the importance and urgency of proactive and regular eye screenings, especially as eye diseases are increasingly affecting younger people and silently impacting their quality of life.

Understanding that healthy eyes not only enhance vision but also improve connections, preserve memories, emotions, and the beauty of life, Long Chau and V.Rohto are collaborating to provide 20 vision screening locations throughout August in Ho Chi Minh City.
Representatives from both organizations stated that people can receive free vision checks and consultations from medical professionals on how to protect their eyes and cultivate early eye care habits – the foundation for a quality life.
Since its launch, the program has attracted numerous participants. At the screening locations, specialist doctors conduct examinations using the latest measurement equipment for quick and accurate vision checks.
Office workers and students frequently exposed to blue light can detect early signs of vision impairment. Older adults receive support in checking for cataracts or corneal damage. Meanwhile, children receive examinations and advice on protecting their eyes when using technology.

For the past 20 years, V.Rohto has collaborated with professional partners to provide eye care to the community, especially those who lack access," the representative explained.
