Ruby Lin's "reverse aging" menu at age 50

Actress Ruby Lin maintains her physique by exercising at the gym 5 days a week, sleeping regularly, eating natural foods rich in protein and green vegetables, and limiting alcohol and bread.

After years in the entertainment industry, Ruby Lin consistently maintains a peak appearance. Even at age 50, her condition earns widespread praise from media and fans, solidifying her reputation as an "ageless goddess". Responding to public curiosity, Ruby Lin openly shared her detailed diet and healthy regimen that helps her combat aging.

Ruby Lin follows a consistent exercise routine, training 5 days a week. She also adheres to a disciplined sleep schedule, going to bed early and waking early. Her gym workouts, including weightlifting, cardio, and boxing, are all part of her regimen.

Her diet prioritizes natural, unprocessed whole foods, with a focus on protein and green vegetables. For health reasons, she has almost entirely cut out alcohol. Even bread, a favorite treat, is consumed only occasionally.

This strict discipline has resulted in Ruby Lin achieving a body fat percentage of just 22.2%. This ideal figure means her physique is even firmer now than it was before she gave birth.

Many individuals trying to lose weight avoid bread, often viewing it as a "forbidden food" and fearing that even a small amount will lead to weight gain. However, nutritionist Liao Xinyi clarifies that the real key is managing overall calorie intake. With smart food choices and combinations, one can occasionally enjoy bread without guilt.

Liao Xinyi explains that a common reason for weight gain from bread stems from its basic ingredients: flour, oil, and sugar. Unlike staples such as white rice or noodles, bread often has fat added during processing. Consuming breads with fillings or spreads like red bean paste, peanut butter, cream sauce, or butter significantly increases sugar and fat intake.

Liao warns that just one sweet-filled bread can cause oil and sugar intake to meet or exceed daily recommended limits. This contributes to the widespread belief that "eating bread inevitably leads to weight gain."

The nutritionist confirms that weight loss does not require completely eliminating bread. She advises consumers to opt for simple breads, such as sandwich bread, small rolls, or plain hamburger buns.

Combine these simple breads with protein sources like eggs or grilled meat, and green vegetables such as lettuce, cucumber, and tomatoes. This creates a nutritionally balanced meal with easily controlled calories.

Addressing the common belief that "whole wheat bread prevents weight gain," Liao Xinyi clarifies this is a misconception. Most commercial "whole wheat breads" are often blended with refined flour. To achieve desired softness, manufacturers may even add more oil or sugar.

Whole wheat bread contains more fiber and B vitamins compared to white flour products. The expert thus still recommends choosing whole wheat options. However, Liao stresses the importance of not overeating, simply because it is whole wheat.

"Bread is not off-limits; the key is to consider its type, how it's combined with other foods, and portion size," Liao emphasizes. She adds that the only way to enjoy food without concerns about weight gain is to eat intelligently.
