Gintsburg stated that the patient is expected to receive two more doses, and the immune response will continue to be monitored throughout the treatment.
He also announced that personalized melanoma vaccines are being prepared for 10 other patients, with completion expected in approximately 1.5-3 months.
Andrey Kaprin, head of the National Medical Research Center for Radiology, previously characterized this vaccine technology as a distinct approach to cancer treatment. Rather than just treating the disease, the method focuses on training the immune system to identify and eliminate harmful cells.
Neooncovac is a personalized therapeutic vaccine. It is created by analyzing genetic characteristics from tumor and healthy tissue samples, which then enables the vaccine to train the immune system to recognize and attack cancer cells.
Russian health officials reported that patients receiving Oncopept have also developed the necessary immune response. Additionally, the Gamaleya Institute is researching treatments for pancreatic cancer, kidney cancer, and non-small cell lung cancer.
