Speaking at the opening ceremony, Associate Professor, Doctor Tran Quang Hien, Director of An Giang Provincial Department of Health, highlighted the healthcare sector's commitment to fostering a balanced development between public and private healthcare. This initiative aims to mobilize high-quality resources to enhance public health services. He praised the Saigon Eye Hospital system as a reputable and high-quality network that adheres to US JCI standards. Doctor Hien expressed confidence that Saigon Eye Hospital Kien Giang, with its staff licensed by the Ministry of Health, a technical list supervised by the Department of Health, and modern equipment, "will successfully fulfill the tasks assigned by the healthcare sector."
Doctor Hien also noted that An Giang province, following its merger, has a large population, ranking third nationwide after TP HCM and Hanoi. The local health sector estimates a need for 100,000 to 200,000 phaco surgeries. "The public demand is immense. I believe this hospital system will meet a portion of that legitimate need," Doctor Hien said.
