According to UK experts, Vietnam has many advantages to make breakthroughs in digital health. Beyond strong political will, Vietnam has the opportunity to build modern digital platforms from the outset, avoiding barriers from decades-old legacy systems in many developed nations. Meanwhile, Vietnam is emerging as a regional leader in digital transformation, boasting a population of over 100 million, rising healthcare demands, and a strong focus on science and technology development.
Frank Hester OBE, TPP's founder, stated that this is a unique time for Vietnam to leverage international experience to accelerate its transformation process. He noted, "Vietnam has the opportunity to build the right electronic health record platform from the start, creating a connected healthcare system ready for the artificial intelligence era". He added that the greatest value of international cooperation lies not in mere technology transfer, but in sharing proven practical lessons from implementation.

Experts highlighted that the United Kingdom is a global leader in developing electronic health record systems, managing medical data, and applying digital technology in healthcare. They believe that combining UK experience with Vietnam's development potential can create practical cooperation opportunities, spanning: medical data infrastructure, digital healthcare platforms, human resource training, and artificial intelligence research and application in medicine. Notably, the UK's decades of experience in its healthcare system can help Vietnam avoid challenges faced by many nations during digitalization.
During discussions in hanoi and da nang, many speakers emphasized that digital transformation succeeds only when it delivers tangible benefits to the public. This convergence of approaches between Vietnamese and UK partners views technology not as an end goal, but as a tool to: enhance healthcare quality, reduce administrative burdens for medical staff, and facilitate easier public access to services.
