On 23/9, the Economic Police Department of Ho Chi Minh City Police (PC03) announced the indictment of 10 suspects for producing and trading counterfeit goods.

Previously, PC03 collaborated with Hoa Loi Ward Police to inspect and discover a facility illegally refilling LPG from tankers into fixed storage tanks and gas cylinders. The facility could not present documents proving its eligibility to operate an LPG business or refilling services.

At the site, police documented approximately 18 tons of LPG in a tanker, numerous gas cylinder shells bearing various brand names, and machinery used for refilling.

Initial investigation revealed that the group purchased unregistered, untraceable LPG and illegally refilled it into 6, 12, and 45 kg gas cylinders bearing the brand names of various companies for distribution to the market.

In connection with the case, several dealerships were identified as purchasing gas at prices lower than official suppliers, despite lacking invoices or documentation.

By the time it was discovered, the network had produced and distributed over 505,000 kg of LPG, equivalent to 42,083 12 kg gas cylinders. The value of this counterfeit gas was estimated at approximately 18,6 billion VND, comparable to genuine products.

Ho Chi Minh City Police are currently expanding their investigation into the case.
