Border police at Tan Son Nhat International Airport discovered 9 items, suspected to be bullets and casings, in a 21-year-old man's checked luggage on 15/9. The discovery occurred during routine screening at terminal T3 as the man was preparing for a flight from TP HCM to Thanh Hoa.

Following a detailed inspection of the luggage, airport security confirmed the presence of 4 bullet casings and 5 items identified as military bullets. The individual claimed to have found these items while sand mining in Vinh Long in August and stated he kept them as souvenirs.

A forensic examination by the Forensic Technical Department of TP HCM Police later confirmed that the 5 items were 12.7 mm military bullets, all of which were live.

The Tan Son Nhat Border Police have since transferred the case to the TP HCM Police for ongoing investigation.
