Around 11:40 p.m. on 5/3, Jason Hughes, a math teacher at North Hall High School, heard a commotion outside his home in Gainesville, Georgia. Upon checking, the 40-year-old teacher discovered a group of teenagers using toilet paper rolls to cover his property as a prank.
As Jason stepped out, the students fled.
According to allegations, Jason stumbled and was struck by a pickup truck driven by Jayden Wallace, 18, which subsequently ran over him. Jayden and two others stopped to check on Jason, providing first aid until paramedics arrived and transported him to the hospital.
Jason succumbed to his injuries at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville on 6/3.
