The case came to light after tax authorities provided information. Initial investigations revealed that from 6/2022 to 6/2023, Bien's business used 66 fake invoices for non-existent goods sales and pig slaughtering services, totaling over 2.89 billion VND.
Expanding their verification, authorities discovered the facility issued an additional 20 fake invoices for processing over 20,000 pigs for C.P Livestock Company branches, totaling nearly 300 million VND. This starkly contrasts with the Ca Mau province's Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, and Veterinary Sub-Department's records, which show the facility was only registered to slaughter fewer than 20 pigs daily.
During questioning by authorities, Bien failed to provide any documents to prove the delivery or receipt of pigs between the parties. He also did not declare labor costs, utilities, or raw materials on his tax statements. Furthermore, electronic invoice data showed no corresponding input invoices. Bien admitted that the processing was fictitious, stating he only issued invoices on demand and received a 5% commission on each invoice's value.
The case is currently under investigation.
