Body of suspect in fatal stabbing found in Hue river

Le Quang Vo, 33, stabbed his neighbor Ho Duc Duy to death before jumping into the Perfume River.

The body of Le Quang Vo was recovered from the Perfume River near Da Vien Bridge on the afternoon of 12/7 by the fire and rescue police.

Police identified Vo as the suspect in the fatal stabbing of Ho Duc Duy in Kim Long ward on the night of 11/7.

The incident began around 6:20 PM on 11/7, when Vo, armed with a knife and accompanied by Tran Van Loi, 31, went to the home of Le Quang Nam, 45, on Nguyen Phuc Chu Street, looking to attack Duy.

Finding Duy drinking with two others on a balcony, Vo attacked him.

Duy wrestled Vo to the ground in the front yard, and a struggle ensued. Loi then joined the attack, striking Duy with a weapon before being restrained by bystanders.

During the struggle, Vo stabbed Duy in the shoulder, killing him instantly.

Authorities confirmed that Vo jumped into the Perfume River after the attack. Loi is currently in custody.
