According to the investigation, Loc conceived the idea of revenge due to a dispute with a 43-year-old man from Tri Ton commune.
On 28/4, while climbing Nam Qui mountain, he discovered an artillery shell remaining from the war. He brought it back and hid it at his older sister's house. Loc then cleaned and removed the rust from its exterior.
On the morning of 30/4, Loc brought the shell and a mini gas cylinder with a torch attachment to the front of his opponent's house. He used fire to ignite the base of the shell, then left. Fortunately, the shell did not explode.
Upon receiving reports from residents, Tri Ton commune police invited Loc for questioning. At the investigative agency, he admitted to the entire act.
The forensic examination concluded that the seized item was a 105 mm artillery shell, classified as a military weapon.
