Chili powder assault leads to 1.5 billion Vietnamese dong robbery

A robbery group from the Mekong Delta attacked an individual with chili powder in Tuy Hoa ward, making off with a handbag containing 1.5 billion Vietnamese dong.

The robbery occurred on 13/12 in Vinh Phu neighborhood, Tuy Hoa ward. The group exploited a meteorite trade transaction to commit the crime before fleeing in a car.

Following a 24-hour search, Dak Lak Provincial Police arrested Truong Tieu Dien, 26, a suspect residing in Ca Mau province.

Police identified five more individuals, aged 31 to 37, linked to the robbery. They reside in Mekong Delta provinces including Can Tho city, Dong Thap, An Giang, and Vinh Long.

The investigative police agency is actively searching for these five individuals and has called on them to surrender.

The case remains under active investigation.
