8th-grade student fatally stabbed by classmate

Two groups of 8th-grade female students met in a secluded area for a fight, resulting in one student being fatally stabbed.

An 8th-grade female student was fatally stabbed by a classmate during a pre-arranged fight between two groups of students in Binh Minh commune, Ninh Binh province. The tragic incident occurred around 1 p.m. on 16/12.

The altercation involved students from Binh Minh Secondary School and Kim Dong Secondary School, who had agreed to meet in a secluded area near a ditch to resolve a conflict. The confrontation quickly escalated into a heated argument and a physical fight, with students reportedly using helmets. During the struggle, an 8th-grade student from Kim Dong Secondary School allegedly drew a knife and stabbed a student from Binh Minh commune, who subsequently died.

Authorities quickly responded to the scene, recovering the weapon, a knife, which had been discarded in the ditch. The suspect has been temporarily detained, and investigators are taking her statement under the supervision of a guardian. According to local officials, both students involved in the incident had good academic records and satisfactory behavior.

The Ninh Binh Department of Education and Training has dispatched officials to visit and offer support to the victim's family.
