Nguyen Dinh Khanh, 38, was arrested and temporarily detained by Dak Lak Provincial Police on March 7 for allegedly raping a disabled woman. Khanh, a resident of Ba Dinh commune, Thanh Hoa province, is accused of assaulting the woman after a drinking session at a neighbor's house.

According to the investigation, while living and working for a resident in Ea Nuol commune, Khanh became aware that a 31-year-old woman with disabilities and limited cognitive abilities lived next door.

On the morning of 1/11/2025, Khanh went to the family's house to help slaughter a pig. While assisting, he allegedly groped the woman when no one else was present. Later that afternoon, after a drinking session with the family, Khanh reportedly saw the woman lying alone in her room. He then snuck in and allegedly committed the rape, at which point the victim's father discovered him.
