Le Minh Phuong, 40, a sanitation worker for Saigon 3 Garment Company, made the grim discovery yesterday morning. While cleaning the embankment behind his workplace, he noticed a green sack among water hyacinths. Upon inspection, Phuong found the dismembered body, which was missing its head and had several body parts separated. He immediately reported it to the police.
Initial police examinations identified the victim as a female, approximately 40-50 years old, about 1.6 meters tall, and of average build. She had long, dark brown hair, pink nail polish on her fingers and toes, and no tattoos. The woman was dressed in a sleeveless t-shirt, underwear, and black shorts. Preliminary forensic results indicate that the victim had died more than 4 days before her body was found.
