Thanh Sen Ward Police issued the administrative penalty decision against the woman, announced on 17/9. The decision cites Decree 330/2026 on administrative penalties in cybersecurity and personal data protection.

On 26/8, the woman used her personal Facebook account to seek help from the online community in finding an individual to "meet and resolve a personal matter." The post included an image of the electronic identification card belonging to the person she was looking for.

According to authorities, the image of the electronic identification card exposed the individual's full name, date of birth, ID number, issue date, expiry date, and place of issue.

During questioning by the investigating agency, the woman admitted to publicly disclosing another person's personal data without consent and pledged not to reoffend.

Thanh Sen Ward Police advised residents not to arbitrarily collect, use, provide, share, or publicly disclose another person's personal data without their consent or when not legally permitted.
