Deputy director of Da Nang Public Security appointed as head of Internal Political Security Department

Colonel Nguyen Dai Dong, deputy director of Da Nang City Public Security, has been assigned and appointed as head of the Internal Political Security Department, Ministry of Public Security.

The decision by the Minister of Public Security regarding personnel work was handed to Colonel Dong by Senior Lieutenant General Pham The Tung, deputy minister of public security, on the afternoon of 17/9.

The deputy minister urged the Internal Political Security Department to maintain solidarity, proactively grasp the situation, and promptly advise on and effectively handle complex issues related to internal political security, cultural ideology, information, communication, and state secret protection. This approach aims to ensure preparedness and prevent surprises in all circumstances.

Colonel Dong's appointment as department head comes more than two months after his predecessor, Lieutenant General Dinh Van Noi, was reassigned by the Party Central Committee Secretariat. Lieutenant General Noi now serves as deputy secretary of the An Giang Provincial Party Committee and secretary of the Phu Quoc special administrative economic zone.

Colonel Dong, 47 years old, hails from Co Do commune, Hanoi. His career has spanned many years, closely associated with the Cultural Security Department, the General Security Department, and later the Internal Political Security Department, all within the Ministry of Public Security. Since 3/2022, he has served as deputy director and head of the security investigation agency for Da Nang City Public Security. He also holds the positions of deputy secretary of the party committee and chairman of the party committee's inspection committee (from 7/2025).

Currently, he is a delegate to the 16th National Assembly.
