On the morning of 15/5, Dong Thap Provincial Police announced they are examining the scene to clarify the cause of an accident caused by Gu Gixin, 38, a Chinese national, last night.

Initial reports indicate that around 23:00 on 14/5, Gu Gixin was driving a five-seater oto on national highway 1, heading from the Mekong Delta region to TP HCM. Upon reaching Binh Phu commune, Dong Thap province, the oto unexpectedly crashed into a roadside home.

Nguyen Thi Ngo, 67, who was sitting selling drinks in front of her home, was unexpectedly hit by the oto and dragged for about 10 meters. The victim sustained severe injuries and was rushed to the emergency room but died en route.

At the scene, the front and body of the oto were deformed, and many items in the drink stall were shattered and scattered.
