Singer Miu Le will not face criminal charges in connection with a drug use case on Cat Ba island, authorities announced. She was identified as a "beneficiary" in the illegal drug possession and use incident, meaning there were "insufficient grounds for criminal prosecution."
Two other individuals involved, Tran Minh Trang and Vu Khuong An, were also determined to be "beneficiaries" alongside Miu Le. Consequently, these three will not be criminally prosecuted.
Among the 6 people caught red-handed on 10/5, the Hai Phong City Police Investigation Agency initiated criminal proceedings and temporarily detained three others. Tran Duc Phong, 35, from Ngoc Ha ward, Ha Noi, and Vu Thai Nam, 24, from Dong Nguyen ward, Bac Ninh province, were charged with organizing illegal drug use and illegal drug possession. Doan Thi Thuy An, 36, from Cat Ba special zone, Hai Phong, was charged with organizing illegal drug use.
Initial investigations revealed that Doan Thi Thuy An managed the TiTi Beach accommodation facility, located at Tung Thu beach in Cat Hai special zone, Cat Ba island. The incident began on 7/5 when An invited friends, including singer Miu Le, Vu Khuong An, and the couple Tran Duc Phong and Tran Minh Trang, to visit. Phong subsequently invited Vu Thai Nam to join them and pre-arranged synthetic drugs for the group's consumption.
On the night of 9/5, Phong prepared the drugs, mixing "nuoc vui" (a recreational drug mixture) into cups and placing ketamine on a plate for Nam to process into a fine powder. This mixture was then distributed to the 6 individuals. The group consumed the drugs until approximately 5h the following morning.
Following a tip-off from residents, police inspected the beach area and brought all 6 individuals to the station for questioning. At the time of the inspection, the entire group tested positive for multiple illicit substances, including: methamphetamine, MDMA, ketamine, and nimetazepam.
