Girl sexually assaulted at neighbor's house while watching television

Taking advantage of the absence of adults, Tran Van Viet assaulted a 5-year-old girl who had come to his house to watch television.

On 16/6, Tran Van Viet, 30, a resident of Phu Quoc special district, was charged and arrested by An Giang Provincial Police for the crime of "rape of a person under 16".

According to the investigation, at noon on 5/6, the neighbor's child and her younger brother visited Viet's house to watch television. Viet then used enticing words to commit the assault.

The girl's grandmother discovered the incident when she arrived at Viet's house to call the children home for lunch.

Viet was arrested and admitted his actions to the investigative agency.

Recently, there has been a rise in child sexual abuse cases, with many perpetrators being acquaintances or neighbors.

Experts advise parents to increase supervision, avoid leaving young children alone, and equip them with self-protection skills to reduce the risk of abuse.
