Robber threatens to shoot victims during pursuit

Duong Sy Lam, 33, pulled out a gun and threatened to shoot a group of individuals who were pursuing him to reclaim their money before speeding away.

Dong Nai Police temporarily detained Lam on 10/8 to investigate him for property robbery, theft, and other offenses.

Last week, while at a coffee shop in Phuoc Son commune, Lam requested a young man to transfer 500,000 dong to his account. After the transfer, Lam spent time playing games before leaving on his vehicle without repaying the money.

The young man and his friends pursued Lam, demanding their money. Lam unexpectedly drew a handgun, pointed it at the group, and threatened to shoot. Frightened, the pursuers stopped and reported the incident to the police.

During his escape, Lam stole a motorbike and a mobile phone from another roadside coffee shop. Later, in Lam Dong province, traffic police instructed him to stop for document verification. Lam feigned a phone call, then fled, leaving behind the stolen goods.

Recently, detectives apprehended Lam while he was hiding in Ninh Hoa commune, Khanh Hoa.
