Gold thief escapes scene on a donkey

A gold theft in Turkey turned into a comical incident after the perpetrator, who stole 150g of gold from a store, opted for a donkey as his getaway vehicle instead of a waiting car, unlike scenes from a movie.

A 26-year-old man was arrested following an unusual gold theft in Kayseri, central Turkey. The incident, which occurred on the night of 8/2, gained attention after the suspect reportedly fled the scene on a donkey, rather than a conventional getaway car.

Security camera footage from the jewelry store captured the audacious break-in. The video shows a forklift prying open the shop's rolling door. Once inside, the thief knocked over a display cabinet and gathered 150g of gold jewelry from the floor.

The stolen items, including intricately crafted gold rings, necklaces, and bracelets, were later found buried underground in a black trash bag. Video released by local police shows officers excavating the hidden jewelry. Local police continue their investigation into the incident.
