On 3/8, the Quang Tri Provincial Border Guard Command announced the arrest of Ma Ni Lot Tom, 34, and Su Van Na Kham Di Ba Thay, 36. Both individuals, residing in Khammouane province, Laos, were detained for transporting prohibited goods.

The incident occurred around 1h on 2/8, when Ma Ni Lot Tom was driving a tractor-trailer with Laotian license plates, entering Vietnam from Laos. Su Van Na Kham Di Ba Thay was the co-driver.

Authorities stopped the vehicle on Ho Chi Minh Road, near Tuyen Lam commune, for inspection. They discovered 484 boxes of explosive fireworks, weighing a total of 633 kg, along with 35 synthetic drug pills.

The suspects confessed they were hired to transport the fireworks illegally from Laos into Vietnam for sale. They stated that the 35 synthetic drug pills were for their personal use during the journey.
