'Social media gangster' Khanh Sky arrested in emergency operation

Nguyen Van Hoi, also known as Khanh Sky, was arrested in an emergency operation five days after he and Ho Van Khoa livestreamed abusive content at TikToker Vua Quat's workshop.

Nguyen Van Hoi, 34, from Hung Yen, was arrested under an emergency warrant issued by the Bac Ninh Provincial Police Investigation Agency. The warrant, approved by the Regional People's Procuracy No. 7, Bac Ninh province, relates to an investigation into his actions concerning public disturbance.

On 29/7, Khanh, along with Khoa and several others, went to the production workshop of Tran Dinh Tiep (TikToker Vua Quat) in Tam Giang commune, Bac Ninh province. There, Khanh Sky's group livestreamed on social media for about 15 minutes, uttering numerous insults, threats, and challenges. While holding up his phone to livestream, Khanh Sky entered the workshop area, loudly demanding that Vua Quat come out to meet him.

In the video, Khanh Sky stated, "At worst, I'll go to jail, why be afraid?" The livestream garnered thousands of views and interactions.

Khanh Sky gained notoriety on social media through videos featuring abusive and vulgar language targeting others. During his livestreams, he often displayed a mocking attitude. Before being summoned, Hoi recorded a video making fun of the situation, "requesting a suspended sentence" and "a cool jail cell."

Khoa is also known on social media as a "social media gangster" through his controversial videos. He has two prior convictions for extortion, disturbing public order, and intentional property damage. Khoa was previously accused of shooting at fellow "social media gangster" Duong Minh Tuyen in 2021 due to a personal conflict.
