Luu Minh Chien, 25, residing in Lam Dong province, has been indicted for murder by the Hanoi People's Procuracy.

The victim, Nguyet, fortunately survived the attack, but sustained a 77% health impairment.

According to the indictment, Chien and Nguyet, 33, owner of a beauty salon in Hanoi, met on Facebook in 6/2025. Although living with her husband and children, Nguyet introduced herself as separated. The two subsequently developed feelings, and Chien traveled to Hanoi two times to meet her.

By 10/2025, Nguyet decided to end the relationship and blocked contact with Chien.

On the night of 26/10/2025, Chien traveled by train from Lam Dong to Hanoi with the intention of reconciling their relationship.

Around 5h two days later, near Nguyet's home, Chien purchased two bottles of pesticide and two sharp knives. He also carried pepper spray he had bought online previously.

According to the accusation, Chien planned to kill Nguyet and then commit suicide by drinking pesticide if she refused to resume their relationship.

Around 7h the same day, Chien arrived at Nguyet's house. Her housekeeper led him into the bedroom. Nguyet's 15-year-old daughter left the room upon seeing her mother had a visitor.

Chien then locked the door. When Nguyet refused to speak with him, revealed her husband was home, and asked Chien to leave, he pulled out a knife and attacked her.

The indictment states that despite Nguyet resisting and pleading, Chien continued his assault, inflicting 11 wounds on various parts of her body.

Witnessing the incident through a glass partition, Nguyet's husband and neighbors broke the glass to intervene. Chien used pepper spray on those who attempted to rescue her.

Subsequently, Chien drank the prepared pesticide in an attempt to commit suicide, but he vomited.

Nguyet was hospitalized for nearly two months before being discharged and is now demanding one billion VND in compensation from Chien.
