On the afternoon of 14/8, a truck driver and his female passenger were traveling on N13 road in Binh Duong ward. As they reached the intersection with D3 road, a man blocked their path.

Preliminary investigations indicate that after a heated exchange, the man climbed into the truck's cabin and attacked the driver and the woman with a knife. Both victims managed to escape and call for help. Local residents transported the seriously injured pair to the hospital.

Meanwhile, the attacker remained in the cabin, locked the doors, and set himself on fire. By the time residents and authorities extinguished the flames, he was dead.

Ho Chi Minh City police are interviewing witnesses and have not yet released any further information.
