On 17/4, Thang, a resident of Ha Huy Tap ward, is being temporarily detained by Ha Tinh Provincial Police for investigation into murder, under Article 123 of the Criminal Code.

According to the investigation, Thang and Le Thi Minh, 40 years old, were married for decades before divorcing and had two children together. Minh had been working abroad for 8 years and had only returned to her hometown to visit family five days prior.

Aware of his ex-wife's return, at approximately 9:30 PM on 16/4, Thang went to the home of Minh's younger brother in Thang Hoa residential group, Ha Huy Tap ward (formerly Ha Tinh City). He requested that everyone leave them to speak privately.

Authorities allege that during their conversation on the doorstep, Thang proposed reconciliation, but Minh refused. Angered, Thang reportedly pulled a knife from his shirt and stabbed his ex-wife two times. The victim was rushed to the hospital for emergency treatment but did not survive.

After committing the crime, Thang fled the scene. He was arrested by police at 11 PM the same day while hiding in a field near his house.
