Man indicted for selling 56 fake watches

Vu Van Dat is accused of selling 56 counterfeit watches from brands such as Rolex, Franck Muller, Hublot, Patek Phillip, and Richard Mille.

Vu Van Dat, 28, was indicted on 9/8 by Quang Ninh Provincial Police on two charges: infringement of industrial property rights and tax evasion.

The Economic Police Department had previously discovered Dat engaged in watch transactions on 3/6. During the inspection, his store contained 30 watches, all bearing trademarks protected in Vietnam.

Police determined that from 2022 to present, Dat sold 56 counterfeit watches from brands including Rolex, Franck Muller, Hublot, Patek Phillip, and Richard Mille, illicitly profiting by nearly VND 150 million.

In addition to his LUXURY WACTH store located on Nguyen Binh Street in Dong Trieu Ward, Dat also conducted online sales via platforms such as Facebook, Tiktok, and Zalo.

Further investigation revealed that from 2022 until the end of 2025, Dat's business generated revenue that was not declared or taxed, resulting in nearly VND 125 million in evaded taxes.
