Vo Ngoc Hung, residing in Tien Thanh ward, was criminally detained by Lam Dong Provincial Police on 27/8 for investigation into his alleged involvement in murder.

Initial information indicates that the two brothers' mother had been living with Hung. Recently, while Hung was at sea, his mother fell ill and contacted her older son, who then took her to his home for care. Upon returning home and discovering his mother was no longer there, Hung became angered, believing his brother had "arbitrarily taken their mother".

Around 10 p.m. last evening, Hung went to his brother's residence in residential group 4, Tien Thanh ward. There, he drew a knife and stabbed his brother in the chest. The victim was rushed to the emergency room but died.
