Man kills rival, then barricades himself at home

Nguyen Hoang Khanh, after fatally stabbing a young man due to a volleyball dispute, returned home and barricaded himself, but was subdued by police.

On 9/4, Khanh, 26, was temporarily detained by Dong Thap Provincial Police for investigation into murder.

According to the investigation, two days prior, Khanh and Thanh, 29, who resided in the same commune, had an argument while playing volleyball.

The following afternoon, while Thanh was sitting in front of an acquaintance's house watching tivi, Khanh unexpectedly arrived on a motorbike, holding a knife, and stabbed Thanh in the neck. The victim sustained severe injuries, cried for help, and was taken to the emergency room, but died shortly after.

After committing the crime, Khanh fled home and barricaded himself. Communal police later arrived to persuade and subdue him.
